The Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), and the Patron of Worldwide Humanity First, His Holiness, Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad delivered the keynote address at the Humanity First International Conference held on 24 January 2015 in London, UK

During the keynote address, Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said that serving humanity was a basic teaching of Islam and that the work of Humanity First was motivated by this very teaching. He said that the charity's very name outlined its mission and objective – to consider and value the needs of others above one's own needs.

Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued, "The very basis and purpose with which Humanity First was named – was that first of all humanity' and one's own pleasure and comfort is secondary. Thus, very person associated with Humanity First – whether they are part of its executive body or whether they are workers or volunteers – should understand this philosophy and this spirit."

Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued, "Serving humanity requires that a person does not rest until he has solved the problems of others and takes the weight of their burdens onto his own shoulders. It requires that a person's heart is consumed by a love for others, whereby he cares not for his own comfort – but rather he cares only for the comfort of others. It requires that a person is ever-ready to personally absorb all forms of distress for the sake of others and to consider the pain and of others as though it is his own pain. It requires that a person is ready to bear personal suffering or anxiety so that others can live in peace and contentment."

His Holiness Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, also gave guidance on how they should conduct themselves when assisting people across the world in disaster situations or in helping with poverty alleviation.

His words and presence was inspirational for all of the members of Humanity First that were present at the event.
